Interview with Ella James:

Q1~How did you come up with your series?
The weird thing is, I wrote Stained in 2006 and I'm not kidding you - I have NO IDEA. I know I wrote it really fast... like in a week or so, but that's all I remember. =/ I wish I remembered more!

Q2~Are any of the characters based off your friends or family?
My husband is a little like Cayne. He has that whole mysterious and stoic vibe down - or he did when I met him. Samyaza is a tiny bit like a boss I had at a grocery store when I was 15. But only a tiny bit.

Q3~Do any of the characters have your traits?
Most of them have at least one of my traits. The ones that are most like me are Logan from Before You Go, Vincent from Over The Moon (book that's related to Before You Go) and another character named Wren from Over The Moon. Um, have you considered reading that when it comes out? Lol. It's a follow up to Before You Go, a YA romance that is out now.

Q4~Do you know how your series will end?
Yes. I do. MUHAHAHA.

Q5~Can you give us any hints about the next book?
A few pretty crazy things happen. One of the characters makes a major change, but I can't really say how. Another one gets some terrible news - some very surprising news that impacts them like WHOA and throws a big wrench in someone else's life. That will shock you. Another person is revealed to be a traitor. And Julia goes through a few different things, including a betrayal by some people close to her... and I don't mean the traitor. *grins wickedly*

Q6~Do you need anything when your writing like music or coffee?
No, not really. I really don't like writing over music - unless it's a certain song. Techno songs are easier for me to tune out. I prefer it quiet, and I'd rather be alone in the room if I can be.

Q7~Do you have plans for another series?
I have several other series going already. One is the HERE trilogy. It's a YA sci-fi romance trilogy; it gets both more romantic and more sci-fi as the books go on, and I should have the secone one out in July. The other series is the Princeps Series; Princeps means Princes in Latin and the first book in that series is Over The Moon, which will be released in July as well. It's adult romantic suspense. I also have a zombie series and a futuristic YA romance series coming out in late summer/early fall. Oops - I almost forgot my shifter series. Fans are helping me plot that on my blog and on my FB page. It's an adult romance series about people who shift into the last animal they encountered, and it should be a lot of fun.

Q8~When you're not writing how do you spend your free time?
I literally have almost no free time. I have a 10-month-old and a wonderful husband who is also my editor and my cover designer. I spend time with them. I love to travel and am considering visiting Iceland in a few months. I also love hiking, reading, and dorky stuff like space and robots.

Q9~What is your favorite paranormal being?
I am a real fan of aliens, mermaids, and robots. Robots are probably my favorite.

Q10~What is the first book you read in the paranormal genre?
Hmm. What a good question! Maybe A Knight in Shining Armor by Jude Devreaux. Does that one count?

Q11~Is there a book that you wish you wrote?
Yes, many! I can't think of anything specific at the moment, but yes. Although I will say most authors I envy write stories that are in some way comparable to mine, and some of my very new stuff (that's not yet released, but will be soon) has been as fun to write as I think my envied authors' books would be.

Q12~Who is your favorite author?
I really like Maggie Stiefvater. I love Evening by Susan Minot. I love JR Ward and vintage Lisa Kleypas.

Q13~If your books were made into a movie what actors would you love to play your characters?
OMG - this question would be much more fun if I knew the names of celebrities! Lol! My friends call me pop culture illiterate. I do love Emma Watson, though. I would love for her to play Milo. Nick needs to be a beautiful guy who is willing to dye his hair a rich, copper color.

Afraid her dart caused his amnesia, Milo takes him in, names him Nick, and vows to help him solve his mystery. Soon the pair find Nick's face in a newspaper obituary, and Nick begins to have strange, ethereal memories of Milo--who is sure she's never met him. Suddenly Nick knows things he shouldn't know and is doing things he shouldn't do. When the Department of Defense shows up, Nick and Milo run--toward a shocking conclusion that could destroy both their worlds.

BEFORE YOU GO:
Margo Ford just became an heiress. Not the Paris Hilton kind. Her billions came after her father died and her insanely wealthy, insanely absent mother officially claimed her. Unfortunately, some terrorists noticed, and they hatched a plot to kidnap her. After a news report goes awry, reporting that Margo *has* been kidnapped, and her mother offers the humiliating sum of $500,000 for her return, Margo doesn't want anything to do with her *#$!@ of an egg donor. Then she is sentenced to a summer of "protection" on her mother's private island. Not the Oprah Winfrey kind. This one has an astronomical observatory filled with scientists, including Logan Greer, a super hot, super infuriating planet-hunter. Hiding out from kidnappers has never been so boring... until suddenly it isn't anymore.
