Mythology - Review

Mythology by Helen Boswell

Book Blurb
Hope Gentry doesn’t believe in Fate. Born with an unusual power to see the dark memories of those around her, Hope just wants to be a normal teenager. But on the first day of her senior year of high school, she finds herself irresistibly drawn to a transfer student named Micah Condie. At first glance, Micah seems like a boy that most girls would dream about. But when Hope's powers allow her to discover Micah's darkest secret, she quickly becomes entangled in the lives of mythical entities she never dreamed existed. Was this her destiny all along? And will her powers help her survive the evil of the Demon Impiorum?

Mythology isn’t just for English class anymore.

My Review
You know how cars have seat belts well you will wish you had a set for wherever you when you read this book. I was on the edge reading this fantastic story. Hope is a different female character than you may be use to. She has had a dark past that still haunts her sometimes but she is doing her best to over come that. She can also see souls and that is something she tries to keep secret from everyone. She meets Micah who has a few secrets his self. Some he doesn't even know about but they are big ones. These two develop a relationship and you just want them to be together for all time. You root for them as they battle evil demons and sometimes they have to battle in a way with the good angels and you still cheer for them. Hope is one of the best female characters I have read about in a while. She stands up for what she believes in, isn't perfect, isn't a coward by far and doesn't need a man to protect her. Micah you can't call the perfect boy but he is a wonderful guy. He lets Hope stand on her own and offers to help instead of constantly telling her she can't do something. They work so well together and you can tell they are meant to be. I know I am rambling but it's hard to describe this book with no spoilers it is awesome how is that.

Why should you read this book? If you like Angel/Demon books pick this up. If you don't or tired of the same old pattern in them pick this up. It is a fresh change from the typical ones. It has dark sides to it that make you keep going and turning the pages. Hope's power adds a nice touch to the story as well and makes you keep guessing why she has it. I recommend this book to everyone. Whether you read paranormal or not you will like this one. The ending leaves you wanting more of this new world but not in a cliffhanger way. you just want to keep reading cause it's great.
5 out of 5 Bats~Pam
